Why not just crop?

Cropping a 16:9 frame to 9:16 throws away most of the picture and usually cuts off whatever matters. Letterboxing keeps everything but leaves dead black bars. Filling those bars with a blurred, zoomed copy of the same footage keeps the whole frame intact while the full vertical canvas stays alive.

What happens to the video

The clip is scaled to cover 1080 × 1920 and cropped, blurred, then dimmed and desaturated so it reads as background. The untouched frame is scaled to fit the width and centred on top. Video is re-encoded with x264; audio is copied unchanged whenever the source codec allows it.

Is it free?

Yes. No account, no subscription, no watermark, and no cap on how many clips you convert.

Does it keep my audio?

Yes. AAC and MP3 tracks are copied bit for bit; anything else is re-encoded to AAC. Silent videos stay silent.

Will the file work on TikTok, Reels, and Shorts?

It is a 1080 × 1920 H.264 MP4 with faststart enabled — the format all three accept without re-processing.

What are the limits?

200 MB and 3 minutes per file, up to 4K source resolution. Longer videos are better handled by running the workflow yourself.

What happens to my video?

Your upload and the result are stored under random IDs and expire an hour after upload. Nothing is published or attached to an account.

Can I change the output size?

The public tool always produces 1080 × 1920. Other canvas sizes are configurable on the node in Studio.
